Football Hero
Tim Green
What character did you dislike?
I disliked the character Big Al, the head gambler, because he always is trying to hide away behind his gambler buddies.
I also dislike Lucy, bar owner who is in cahoots with Big Al, because he tried to destroy Thanes knee and end his career so that Big Al wouldn’t loss his bet.

In the book Two-Minute Drill 6th-grader Scott Parry is getting used to his new school. Being new is tough, especially when you`re the shyest person ever. Scott moves a lot because his dad is a salesman. When Scott meets someoe who loves football as much as he does, they bacome friends. Scott had two big secrets. Ones cool, ones bad. Whats cool is he has his own football field, what`s bad is he is not good at football at all. Besides one thing he can kick. When he discovers something about his new coach it makes it hard for him to get any time on the field. Until the final 30 seconds of the last game.

I read Toby Wheeler Eighth-Grade Benchwarmer because I like sports fiction and also because it reminds me of another book I read, Heat. They have to overcome problems of playing baseball in a different country they haven't been in before and it was illegal. As you can guess, Toby Wheeler has problems.

The book Go Long is a book about Tiki and Ronde Barber. They are now in the NFL.I like this book a lot because there are a lot of ups and downs. In the beginning the team gets a new coach. The team starts the year with a 0-2 record. From that you will have to read on.The second book in this series is called Kickoff and I can't wait to read it.

I liked the book Stumptown Kid by Carol Gorman. It had a lot of action. The book starts with the main character, Charlie, gets cut from the baseball team. Then he meets a former baseball player named Luther. Luther helps Charlie get better. Then Charlie and all the other kids that got cut form their own team and Luther is the coach. What they dont know is that Luther has a secret that puts him in danger. If you like sports books then you should read the book Stumptown Kid.

If you like thrilling, bonerattling experiance, then you will love Crossover by Jeff Rud. It is a sports book about basketball and what all Kyle Evans has to deal with in life. Its not all about sports tho; it has some other school activites. There is also a bulley named Stillman that ends up suspended from school. I really don't like reading, but now i want to read more. So, if you liek what i told you so far then read more! It's a great book!

The Diamond Champs By,Matt Christopher
This book was an all-around okay book. The parts i liked the most about the book were the characters. The characters included boys and girls, which to me is unique for a sports book. There were also parts of the book that didn't make much sense to me. The beginning of the story starts off a little confusing, but after the second chapter I started to the plot and from there on out the book was a definte cliff-hanger.
My favorite part in this book was how their coach was the mysterious type, which led to curiosity from hi players on what kind of person he really was. The kid in this story i would probaly get along with the most would probaly be Eric because we relate in a way. For example Eric is the kind of kid that has a lot of pressure compared to most of his teammates. All in all i've read a lot of Matt Christopher books and each book is alike in a way. Like there is always an individual or group trying to reach some sort of goal. Either it's a championship or personal stats-all sports books are related

Then he recived a letter from his brother Tom in the army and everything changes

Catch That Pass by Matt Christopher

This book is about a star football player with one problem he is scared to get tackled. Jim the main charecter, plays middle line backer and is the hardest hitter on the team. He can't inercept the ball because he is afraid of getting hit and its costing them games. Jim works on his fear throughout the season, with an angery team and a disappointed brother (coach) as his motivation. Someone else is willing to step up and help Jim though. This is a good book for anyone who likes sports, and wants a book that is fast-paced and starts you right in the action.

Tough to Tackle by: Matt Christipher

How would you feel if you wanted to play quarterback, but you were to big and you had to play lineman? Well Boots Raymond has this problem in the book Though to Tackle. He has to fight through playing a position he hates and the fact that his brother is away at war in Vietnam. One week his brother stopped mailing letters. This made them worried. They got a call from the post office saying that there was a letter for them on the day of Boots game day. Is it about his brother or is it from him? Will his brother be alive? Book to find out!
