  1. A Child Called It by: Dave Pelzer

    “IT”
In this story a young boy has a normal life, at least until his parents develop a drinking problem . He is neglected by his family and forced to live through hard times and deal with things like deadly gas chambers, living in the garage , having torn clothes, and no friends .Does he escape? Does he die? Do his parents go to jail? Read the story to find out .
A Child Called It is the time period author Dave Pelzer had to survive this award winning book I would recommend to mature readers only there is horrific parts in it . This is a good and bad book bad because its true good because of description and details . So yes I would recommend it but beware it’s the cold hard truth .

  2. Annie’s Baby by Anonymous

    14 and Pregnant

How would it be if you were fourteen and pregnant? Think about trying to go to school, have a life, taking care of chores, and keeping a baby all at the same time. In Annie’s Baby by Anonymous, Annie has to do all of this. In this book you will meet a fourteen your old girl who, “falls in love” with a boy named Danny. Danny turns sweet and innocent little Annie into a completely different person and not for the good. After Annie becomes pregnant and has to raise a baby almost completely on her own and has to take care of herself as well, will she straighten up her life? Well find out in the book. You will absolutely love this autobiography.
I would recommend this book to everyone. It’s a real page turner because it always leaves you in suspense. I think anyone would enjoy reading this book because it is a very interesting true story that happened to someone in real life. It has a very good life lesson in it as well. In the book I really felt like I was connected to Annie and I was in her life because of all the detail and emotion brought into this book. I would consider this as one of my most favorite books of all time and that’s why I recommend it.

  3. I like the book A Child Called It by David Pelzer. David shows remarkable courage and willpower. Even though he had tough times with his mother, he still had feelings for her. Also, when he went to school, he didn’t want to give his mother’s name whenever the teachers asked him who beat him and where the bruises came from. Lastly, he shows that just because you get beat by family, that doesn’t mean no one cares about you.

  4. I liked the book A Child Called It by David Pelzer. It is about a kid who is abused by his mom. His dad does not know about it. He is always at work, 24/7; he is a firefighter, so he is never home. That is when he is abused by his mom. There is a chapter called Fight for Food. He eats a week old ham out of the garbage. His mom lets it sit in the fridge, so it can get old she knew he could not resist eating it. The only book I have read like this is The Lost Boy.
