  1. The Battle of the Labyrinth by Rick Riordan

    The Gods
In this fantasy book the story will come to life. Have you ever wondered what it would be like to have super powers? Well in this book you will find out.
This book is about children who have Olympic fathers who are from Greek mythology. The kids of these gods have super powers and use them to fight off the evil Kronos and his monsters. Percy Jackson, the son of Poseidon, and the main character, goes on quests and adventures to stop the evil Kronos from destroying the world.
This book is filled with adventure and fun. It is a page turner that you won’t want to put down. You will connect with the characters and feel like you’re really there. This is the third book of its series and one of the best. There so many surprises in this book you’ll be up all night reading. This is a great book and one you must read.

  2. The Lightning Thief by Rick Riordan
    Taking Lightning
Have you ever wondered what it would be like if your father was a God? Well in this fantasy novel, The Lightning Thief, Percy Jackson goes on vacation to a place where they always used to go and gets attacked by a minitor and finds a camp called Half-Blood hill. Later he finds out the camp is like a training facility and he receives a quest to retrieve Zeus’s lightning bolt. During this time he finds out that his father is Posidan, the god of the sea. Later as the book goes on they are attacked and sent to some traps many times and he eventually finds the bolt and returns it Zeus at the top of the Empire State Building in New York.
This is a page-turner because this book is non-stop action and suspense. Almost every chapter ends with a cliff-hanger, for example, Percy and his mother almost get killed. A group of who don’t really like reading books should read this one. I highly recommend this book because this book will pull you in and you could sit there and read for hours.

  4. Eclipse by Stephenie Meyer
    Vampires on the Loose

Edward is a vampire. Eclipse is the third book of the thrilling Twilight Series. Edward and his lover, Bella, are faced with an unbelievable challenge. An enemy of theirs, Victoria, has made an army of thirsty newborn vampires. The reckless newborns goal is to kill Bella and Edward’s family. The lovers realize that they have only two choices, fight the newborns or die.
I definitely recommend this book, especially to teenage girls. However, you must read the first two books in the twilight series, Twilight and New Moon, To fully understand the characters. This book is a page turner because you want to know what Edward is going to do next!
I really enjoy the genre of this book; romance fantasy. The fact that Stephenie Meyer made Edward seem so perfect made me enjoy the book. Eclipse makes every girl wish that the book was reality.

  5. Deep and Dark and Dangerous by Mary Downing Hahn

    The Mysteries of the Lake
This fantasy novel is about a 13 – year old girl, Ali who goes to Maine all summer to babysit her 4- year old cousin, Emma. They’re staying in an old cabin where Ali’s mom, Claire; and Emma’s mom, Dulcie used to play. There is a spooky lake right next to the cabin where not only fish live. Ali’s trying to find out why her mom almost didn’t let her go and is cautious about her being by the lake.
This is one of the best books I’ve ever read. I couldn’t stop reading it! I believe that people who like suspenseful ghost stories would love this book. You never know what is going to happen next. I never thought Ali would care for Sissy, because at the beginning, she had no respect for Sissy. The last part of the book really caught my attention when the diver actually found the bones in the lake. This book was not boring at all because I love ghost stories.

  6. Uglies by Scott Westerfeld
    Beauty or Friendship
Have you ever looked forward to something and then had to wait to get it because something unexpected happened? Well that’s what happens to Tally Youngblood in Uglies. When Tally’s friend, Shay, runs away from an operation all people get on their 16th birthday, which turns them into a gorgeous “Pretty” Tally is given a choice: find Shay and turn her in or be a boring “Ugly” all her life. Tally knows where Shay is, but is beauty really worth the price of turning in her best friend?
This fantasy book is really well written and will have you flipping pages to see the choice that Tally makes. The style of writing the author uses gives distinct insight into what’s going on and why. The different twists and turns will have you thinking about what you would do if you were in Tally’s position. Anyone who enjoys fantasy books will definitely enjoy this novel.

  7. My Sister the Vampire: Switched by Sienna Mercer

    Fangtastic!

Have you ever wondered what it would be like if your own brother or sister was a Vampire? For Olivia Abbott, it’s all new to her. This book of fantasy, Switched, is the first book of a series about how a girl named Olivia who moves to a new town, Franklin Grove, that is filled with Goths. She also make’s a friend named Ivy Vega, who, under the heavy makeup, is Olivia’s long-lost twin sister! When they find out that they’re twins, the girls decide to switch places. Just for fun, right? But then they start to see all of the problems that come up ahead.
I recommend that you read the book, because this thriller is a sure page-turner. There are a lot of killer obstacles that Olivia and Ivy have to go through, including making sure that nobody finds out about the truth about how lots of people in Franklin Grove are Vampires! The way the story plays out is simply amazing! Vampires and humans in a small town, watching out for Bunnys (humans), and keeping their hunger down. People who enjoy stories with Vampires, Goths, and a pair of loving twins, will love to read this book. When I read this book, I couldn’t put it down. It was great! This book just might be the next real killer!

  8. Twilight by Stephenie Meyer

    Death by Boyfriend?

“…some part of him, I didn’t know how dominant, longed for my blood.” says highschooler Bella Swan, when she discovers her boyfriend’s true identity: Vampire. In this romantic fantasy tale, Bella falls in love with Edward Cullen, the cutest, most mysterious guy in school. As love stricken as she is, she senses something strange about him and his family. When Bella is discovered to be a close friend of the family instead of a source of food, a visiting coven of vampires begins tracking her. Edward and his family put their lives in danger to keep Bella safe. Will they succeed?
I highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a good fantasy read. It is an irresistible page turner that leaves you at a loss for words at the vivid picture that it paints. It was so easy to concentrate on the story! I could hardly keep my eyes off of the pages while following Bella and Edward on their adventures. There were some surprises that caught my interest, such as when you learn that Edward is a vampire. Your mind is churning and creating a great picture as the book goes on. My mind was hardly able to register hunger and thirst, much less wander from the story. Even though I personally couldn’t connect with the events, I began to wish that that I had a deep connection with someone, a connection like Edward and Bella’s. All in all, I recommend this book to anyone who is ready to turn page after page of this suspenseful romantic fantasy.
If you enjoy this novel, others in the series are New Moon, Eclipse, and Breaking Dawn.
Another book by Stephenie Meyer is The Host.

  9. Eragon by Christopher Paolini
    One Dragon One Rider
If you like fantasy action books, then Eragon is your kind of book. In Eragon a boy finds a mysterious rock that changes his life along with the lives of many others. This boy’s name is Eragon, and his mission is to save lives. There’s also a dragon mentioned in this story. Her name is Saphira. This dragon could also be the one to change people’s lives. The dragon is strong, brave, amazing, and unselfish. There’s one small trick to reading this book, you have to read it carefully or you might miss something.
I think that this is the best book ever written. It’s full of action and adventure! It’s also a very mysterious book. It’s definitely a page-turner. It’s a pretty thick book, but goes by really fast. This book has lots of surprises. One of them is when Eragon broke something that is very precious to the dwarves to kill a shade. This is the kind of book where if you have to stop it’s really hard to.

  10. The Hobbit by J.R.R.Tolkein
    Dragons Are Dangerous
Have you ever wondered what a dragon looks like? Well, step into the world of J.R.R. Tolkein, where dragons fly and dwarves return to their homes of old to reclaim their treasure. Follow Bilbo Baggins on his adventures into realms unknown to help Gandolf and the dwarves accomplish their quest and defeat Smaug.
I recommend The Hobbit to fantasy readers. Tolkein was very descriptive. The more I read of The Hobbit, the more I wanted to read. Although Tolkein is usually easy to understand, sometimes there is a need to pull out a dictionary. Many of the surprises are unexpected, yet I was very interested in them. For instance, near the end, when Bilbo steals a golden cup from Smaug, Smaug gets very angry when he notices that it’s missing, and flies around the castle, and spits flames at the secret door. Luckily, Bilbo and the dwarves are safe inside the mountain.
Fantasy is my favorite genre, and this novel only heightened my love of fantasy. This novel was separate from others (at least in my mind) because of the way it was written. Tolkein had a way of making the words fit his meanings that I liked. If you read The Hobbit and like it, you should try The Fellowship of the Ring, The Two Towers, and The Return of the King.

  11. Life As We Knew It by Susan Beth Pfeffer
    The End

Have you ever thought the world was coming to an end? Well in the fantasy novel called Life As We Knew It, an asteroid hits the moon and mysterious things begin to happen. People’s cell phones stop working, the electricity stops working, and people are running frantic left and right. It is not until things take a turn for the worst when Miranda’s family gets sick that everyone realizes it was life as we knew it.
I would not recommend this book. I thought it was hard to continue. The plot seemed endless therefore it was boring. There seemed to be no action so when I was reading my mind began to wonder and I would constantly have to reread a page. There wasn’t much action so I didn’t really want to continue reading it. There was hardly any suspense. For some this book will interest you, however it didn’t interest me. If you enjoy fantasy novels, extraordinary detail, mild suspense, and problem solving this is sure to be an enjoyable medium length read.

  12. New Moon by Stephenie Meyer

    Love that Bites
“When life offers you a dream so far beyond any of your expectations, is it not reasonable to grieve when it comes to an end?” In the fantasy novel New Moon, Stephenie Meyer continues her bestselling saga and shows us once again how dangerous life can be when you’re in love with a vampire. Isabella Swan experiences her worst nightmare and after a fatal birthday party, Bella’s entire world shatters. Only to be put together again by Jacob Black who in reintroduced in this novel. He becomes a friend to Bella, but is their relationship more? Strange things start to happen and Jake can’t see Bells anymore. Can Bella figure out the Quileute’s secret? Will she be able to handle it? When there’s a misunderstanding with the Cullens, will Bella be able to save Edward before it’s too late?
\ I would absolutely recommend this book to everyone. It includes action, romance, and fantasy, making it appeasing to almost all readers. Meyer’s writing style allows you to experience all the thoughts and feelings of Isabella Swan. The twisted plot surprised Twilight fans everywhere and hooked more and more readers that wanted to take a bite out of the Twilight series. In this novel Bella deals with new secrets, a trip to Italy, and vampire royalty. This dark romance will have you on edge and the brink of tears.
Want more? Twilight, Eclipse, and Breaking Dawn are also in the series. Meyer’s new series begins with the Host.

  13. Elisabeth Larson
    Inkheart by Cornelia Funke
    Inktale
One night you are reading aloud to a loved one and suddenly that person is thrust into that story and is replaced by the characters that have come to life. That is what happened when Mortimer, call Mo by his daughter, was reading to his wife from the book Inkheart. Mortimer and his daughter, Meggie, are found by one of the characters brought to life nine years ago. Dustfinger, the fire dancer, seeks them out to beg Mo to return him into his own story, and to tell them that Capricorn and Basta, the other characters Mo brought to life from the magic in his voice, are searching for Mo. Then Meggie, Mo, and Dustfinger flee to Mo’s aunt-in-law Eleanor. But when Mo leaves with Capricorn’s fire raisers and the book that pulled his wife into its inky clutches, Meggie is desperate to find him. Will she save her Mo? Could she posses the same magic as him? Find out by reading Inkheart.
This page turner of a fantasy will keep you on the edge of your seat the entire way. The first book in the trilogy, Inkheart, Inkspell, and Inkdeath, will leave you wanting more. With a good mix of fantasy and realism this trilogy is a great read for readers young and old. Also, Inkheart the movie will be released soon and I can only hope that it lives up to the book. I only have one warning about this book. Do not, under any circumstances, read this book aloud!

  14. I liked the book Interview with a Vampire by Anne Rice. My favorite characters in this book are Louis and Claudia because they are kind and have hope to live. My least favorite character is Lesat because he is greedy, selfish and he had a short temper. I like this book because I like Anne Rice and the way she expressed her writing.

  15. I liked the book Harry Potter and The Half Blood Prince by J.K. Rowling. My favorite part in the book is when Harry finds out that Snape is the half blood prince. I like this part because Harry likes the half blood prince but hates Snape. It was also a big surprise that Snape would be the haif blood prince. If you like Harry Potter books, then you should read Harry Potter and The Half Blood Prince.

  16. I liked Brisingr by Christopher Paolini. It’s about a boy named Eragon who finds a dragon egg and becomes a dragon rider. He has to free Alagaesia by defeating Galbatorix. Galbatorix is a tyrant king who took the throne by force. Eragon joins the Varden, a rebel force, and fights Galbatorix’s army. On the way he meets many people and tries helping when he can.

  17. I liked the book Breaking Dawn, by Stephenie Meyer, because it is different from all of the other books that I have read. It is not just an action or a romance; it is a combination of the two. I disliked James and Victoria though. They always tried to kill Bella and I did not like that. I liked Edward because he was nice and always there for Bella. Breaking Dawn, is a story about good and evil, vampires facing each other.

  18. I liked the book Into the Wild, by Erin Hunter. It is very interesting. It is part of series called “Warriors” and it is about cats. The main character is a cat named Rusty who is a housecat and wishes that he could live in the forest by his house. Rusty went into the forest and meets wildcats that belong in a clan. Rusty joins the clan and lives in the forest. The cats changed his name to Firepaw and he is now training to become a warrior. Firepaw uncovers dark secrets of the forest and in other clans. He is willing to risk everything he fought for to uncover these dark secrets to his clan. Or even to risk his life. To find out what happens read Into the Wild you’ll like it.

  19. I like the book Magyk, by Angie Sage. If you like fantasy books, why not read Magyk. I liked it when Silas, one of the main characters, finds the” queenling”, the Queen’s daughter, in a bush and takes her home. After that, the midwife runs out with Septimus. Then Silas’s wife Sarah forgets about Septimus and names the “queenling”, Jena. To me, Magyk, is a really good book.

  20. I like the book of Harry Potter and Prisoner of Azkaban by J.K. Rowling because there are different characters, like there was a man in Azkaban and everybody said he was out to get Harry Potter. Harry wanted to go to Hogsmeade because there are all kinds of candy and drinks. People would like this book if they have read the other books of Harry Potter. People that like suspense and wizardly books would like this novel.

  21. I like the book The Battle for Skandia by John Flanagan, which is Book Four of The Ranger’s Apprentice series. I like this book because it was about fighting and the characters fought with bows and swords. One person I would like to be my friend would be Erak because if he was my friend, he would not try to hurt me. I do not like Haz’kam because he just rides with his group and kills everyone in his path. Before you read book four, you should read books one, two, and three so you understand what book four is about.

  22. I read the book Cry of the Icemark by Stuart Hill. I like it because I can really relate to one of the main characters Oskan, and he is really sarcastic and is a warlock. If you like fantasy and war books, you should check this book out. My favorite part is when Oskan calls down lightning. There are werewolves, vampires, and giant talking snow leopards in this book. It is a series and it’s really cool. It is probably my favorite series.

  23. Have you ever dreamed of having a dragon? Well, if you have, I have a book for you. I’m reading a book called Eragon by Christopher Paolini. This book is about a boy and a dragon. He finds what he thinks is a rock and then a couple months later the so-called rock cracks. He finds out that it is an egg, and there is a dragon in it. When Eragon and his dragon get older they start to fight battles. To me this was a rather interesting book.

  24. I read Fable Haven by Brandon Mull over the summer during the drive to Washington D.C. I have read a lot of books and by far this book and the second book in the series are the greatest books I have ever read. The drive was only two days long. I literally couldn’t put this book down. I read it until my head hurt so bad that my vision started getting blurry and if I had kept reading I would have vomited. The book is about two children who go to their uncle’s house for a couple weeks in the summer while their parents go on a cruise but what they don’t know is that their uncle’s property is a secret sanctuary for magical creatures or as the title says a fable haven. If you like books about magical creatures or just looking for a good book to read then check out this book from your local library today.

  25. I’m doing my blog about a Taste for Rabbit by Linda Zuckerman. If you like reading long, confusing, animal fantasy books, this is your book. I personally liked this book; it’s just confusing right at the end. If you like animals, this is a good book because there are rabbits, foxes, squirrels, and lots more. It’s about rabbits and how they survive life, so they made a castle where rabbits are only allowed to go in and foxes are nearly starving to death because they can’t get any rabbits to eat so a couple of foxes go on a mission to pass the rabbit castle guards and get into the castle to get food. They get inside and something goes wrong. I’m not going to tell you anymore because I want you to read the rest of it, so good luck reading it.

  26. How to Cheat a Dragon’s Curse by Cressida Cowell is one of the best books ever. Hiccup Haddock the Third has a rare disease, but he doesn’t know that. He thinks Fishlegs does. A wonderful book full to the brim with surprises, Cressida Cowell knew what she was doing. This book teaches a valuable lesson in friendship, and even the most ordinary people can become the most extraordinary heroes.

  27. The book i read was Cirque Du Feak by Darren Shan. First off i think that Cirque Du Freak was an AMAZING book. This book would be great for people who like twisted book, twisted events, and twisted people. One of the people in this book that i really liked in this is Darren Shan.Darren shan is a very interesting person. He dares to do things that are unbelieveabel, Darren will keep you on the edge of your seats with all of the things he will do. I think he would be a great friend because he seems like he is always having fun and is very truthful to his freinds. My favorite part in this book is when Darren and his friend went to the freak show. I couldnt put the book down when they got to the freakshow. It waz so interesting. i have personaly never read a book as interesting or amazing as this book.

  28. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone
    By: J.K. Rowling.
The book I read was Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone by J.K. Rowling. It is the first book of the Harry Potter Series. My favorite part was when Harry first found out that he was a wizard. I liked that part so much because he had no idea, when the family he had been living with since he was an infant had known all along and still didn’t tell him. In the book, the Dursley family raised Harry. I didn’t like anybody in the Dursley family because they were so mean to Harry for no reason.
I liked how there were so many characters in the book because it helped tell the story better. Also, it had alot of details. While I was reading I could picture what was going on in my head. I enjoyed reading Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone because it was so unpredictable. I never knew what was going to happen next.

  29. Sand Dollar Summer By Kimberly K. Jones

I just finished the book Sand Dollar Summer by Kimberly K. Jones. It is one of the best books i have ever read. If you are like Free and Lise and dont have a father, they will show you how to get through it. Moving from town to town is also a big part of their lives. Free is a young boy and has disabilities but is a very nice and intelligent boy. Lise is also very nice and helpful to her family. My favorite part of this book is when the family goes back to their mothers homeland to get away. If anybody likes fuunny, tender, and wise novels, you should read this book.

  30. I read Gossamer, a fantasy. The characters are creatures who give people dreams, and the story follows the newest dreamgiver, Littlest One. It’s about her learning how to do her job, which is bestowing dreams. It’s not exciting to me. Although, if you like fantasy and need quick AR points, read this.

  31. Savvy by Ingrid Law
If I were in Savvy,I would like to become friends with Mibs. She would be a nice friend because she is very careful and worries about the things that are important to her like her family and her friends. Her savvy would be cool to have ( her savvy is to read peoples’ minds when they have ink on the like a drawing or tattoo). My favorite part is when everyone goes into the Emerald diner and get into a fight with the manager. I don’t like Carleen and Rhonda, the tattoos that Lester has, They fight and yell a lot. They also talk bad about him. This is the only book that has a story like this one or when at certain times they get a special power.

  32. Jason and the Gorgons Blood by Jane Yolen and Robert J. harris
If you like adventure , mythology , and action then Jason and the Gorgons Blood is the book for you. some characters you will like such as Chiron and Alcestis , but others you’re not going to like such as Hera and Acustus. The novel has some great adventure scenes. The whole book is about mythology for all you mythology lovers. The action scenes are both sometimes suspensful and exiting. the battle with the Harpies and the rockslide are really tense. Again overall the plot , characters , novel , and the story line all of it was good. If you want to know more , then you’re going to have to read it yourself

  33. Tomod a Templar’s Apprentice by Kat black

I would like the Templar as a freind in the book of Tormod. He is a very kind, caring, and powerful knight who fights for the people of the land. He is only quick tempered when you disobey a direct order. He fights under god himself and is exceptionally skilled in the sword and seild crafts. He’s very tough and crafty and has mind powers that persuade his enemies. Thats why Alexander, or the Templar would be a good freind to have. If u like fantasy books, you’ll love Tormod.
