Heart Beat by Sharon Creech
Ignored Girl?
Ever thought what it would be like if you were the only child or the ignored one of the family? This story Heart Beat is about a girl named Annie. At first she is the only child, and she loves having the attention from her parents. Then it all changes. Surprise! Her mom is pregnant. Now everything is different. When her mom has the baby, Annie is now the ignored one of the family. She runs to not think about being ignored.
“Run run run. That’s what 12 year old Annie loves to do. When she’s barefoot and running, she can hear her heartbeat. Thump thump thump!” Eventually Annie realizes the baby isn’t that bad, but she does want more attention from her parents again. This is a great book, it is hard to put down. Every chapter you don’t know what to expect. Ii recommend this book to anyone.

Have you ever wished for a little brother or sister? A twelve year girl named Catherine has a brother with autism. His name is David. She thinks he is really annoying and wishes he was never born. She gives him rules. When she has friends over her brother always ruins it. Then Catherine falls in love with a kid named Jason. He has a delay also. Catherine invites Jason to a party and Jason really wants to dance. When it’s getting closer and closer to time for the dance she’s becoming nervous. It is time to dance but Catherine is too embarrassed and she doesn’t want to, but she also doesn’t want to hurt Jason’s feelings. She dances with him and she loves it!
I think this is an inspiring book. I think this is an inspiring book because it shows bravery. It shows bravery because Catherine is embarrassed to dance but she dances. That shows bravery. I recommend this book to older siblings. It is a book about love.
I Like Rules By Cynthia Lord because it is a very good example of real life. I think my favorite character would be David because he likes bugging his sister which I like doing to my sisters, too. This is a good book for anyone who likes fast good books. I would recommend it for anyone who is looking for a family fun-filled book. It is mostly about a girl Catherine who has a little annoying brother David who “ruins her life.” Then they get a new girl on the block who likes a boy that Catherine does not like at all. He is mean. Then Catherine thinks she is paying more attention to him than her. They still were friends at the end of the book. Throughout the whole book David watches movies but then the VHS movies Catherine has to fix every time because they become unwound. Catherine’s dad usually takes David to the video game store which makes Catherine happy because she doesn’t have to deal with David but then she can’t talk to her dad without David being around. I really hope you get to enjoy it. Pick Rules; it’s the right book for you.
I just finished reading “The Thing About Georgie” by Lisa Graff. In my opinion the book was fantastic. My favorite part was when Georgie showed his parents the poem he wrote for the baby. It was really sweet. What I really liked about the novel was that it showed me that although you can’t do certain things, it doesn’t make you any worse than anyone else. Georgie believes everyone has a “thing” about them. The thing about Georgie is that he’s a dwarf. His life was great until Baby Godzilla came along. That’s when his friendship with Andy went downhill, which caused him to work with Jeanie the Meanie. In this novel it can go from funny to serious, and it just brightens up your day reading it.
That Summer by:Sarah Dessen was a very good book. The person that I would like as a friend would have to be Haven. She seems like the kind of person to hang out with and have fun with. She is nice but sometimes she has attitude towards her family and also her friend Casey. The book That Summer is basically about a 15 year old girl named Haven. Her mom and dad get a divorce because her dad loves this other woman he works with. She is depressed about that and also her older sister Ashley is getting married soon. They are all stressed out about everything. Haven is almost 6 feet tall and she grows very fast. She hates it especially when people tell her shes tall nearly every day. She sees one of her sister’s ex boyfriends one day when she and her dad were out eating lunch. His name is Sumner he was Haven’s favorite out of all Ashleys boyfriends. She makes friends with him and sees him almost everywhere. I think she likes Sumner but no one knows anything yet. Well if you want to know what happens with Ashley’s wedding or Haven and Sumner then you have to read the book.
Speak is a good book, I would like Melinda to be my friend, because I could talk to her and explain things and make sure she doesn’t do anything wrong. My favorite part of the book was when she explained how she did things at her house and what it’s like. I also likeed when she explaind things in detail. I didn’t like the preppy snotty girlswho thought they were better than everyone else. I iked how things were set up; I think the author did a good job, thinking about the feelinds and emotions. I liked how all the chearacters all had differen’t personalities and that’s what i liked about it. I deffinatly recommend this book.
Looking for Normal is a great book. It is about a twelve year old girl that loses her parents to a murder-suicide. Her dad kills his wife and then kills himself. Now her and her brother have to move in with her abusive grandma, and lovable grandpa. They have to live knowing that they don’t have a mom or dad to love. Can they last? There is lots of suspense and sadness involved. I recommened this book to anyone.
